Accommodation during treatment

The Cancer Society's Lions Lodge

The Cancer Society's Lions Lodge in Hamilton provides accommodation, meals and support for people who have to travel long distances for cancer treatment at the Regional Cancer Centre at Waikato Hospital.

A home away from home, the Lodge provides a modern, relaxing and friendly environment for people to enjoy while undergoing cancer treatment.

The Lodge offers a variety of activities and support for guests, as well as time and companionship with people who are going through similar experiences and treatment. Situated on the corner of Lake Road and Tainui Street near Hamilton central city and Waikato Hospital, the Lodge provides easy access to the city's shops, attractions and cafes and overlooks the beautiful Hamilton Lake.

The majority of the rooms at the Lodge are king-single ensuite bedrooms with meals provided in the shared dining room. We also have a limited number of self-catering twin rooms and family units available to people who need a support person or have dependents. Motel-style accommodation is available for our guests from the Tairawhiti region.

If the Lodge is right for you, your specialist will discuss this accommodation option when your treatment is being planned. If the Lodge is not right for you, the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Cancer Society can provide information about other nearby accommodation.
