Some Divisions of the Cancer Society fund regional research initiatives. The Wellington Division and Canterbury-West Coast Division information and application forms are now available.

Grants available across Greater Wellington, Wairarapa, Nelson-Tasman and Marlborough
The Cancer Society Wellington Division provides professional development grants to assist researchers and health professionals working in the Wellington region to attend relevant conferences, seminars, or courses in Aotearoa New Zealand, or overseas.
The general aim is to help successful applicants gain experience that will improve cancer care in Wellington.
Each year the Cancer Society Wellington Division provides a limited number of cancer research grants to researchers based in the Wellington Region.
Grants are normally less than $40,000 each.

The C T Collins Research Scholarship is provided by the Cancer Society Wellington Division to allow a student to undertake cancer-related research/study leading to a Doctorate in Philosophy from a New Zealand University.
Ideally, the research/study will have a health equity focus. The successful applicant will be selected based on their potential for a career in cancer research and will be a full-time student or part-time equivalent.

Please note this Research Fellowship is offered to one applicant every 3 years. The next Fellowship will be awarded in 2024.
