Living Well - Hamilton
Our free Living Well programme offers practical ways of living well, building knowledge, self-confidence and self-help skills wherever you are in your cancer journey.
It is a free programme suitable for anyone with any type and stage of cancer, as well as their carer or significant supporter such as spouse, partner, family or a friend.
Living Well is run by our specially trained liaison nurses with expert speakers from a variety of backgrounds and professions. Each course is tailored to meet the specific needs of the group.
Topics include:
- Understanding cancer
- Managing the side-effects of cancer treatment
- Nutrition
- Relaxation and stress management
- Looking after yourself
- Communication
Participants of the programme often report feeling less anxious and better informed after attending, gaining information and support by identifying concerns and knowing who to contact. One of the most valuable things about the Living Well programme is the contact you have with the other people in the group who are going through similar experiences to yourself. A light lunch is provided.
For more information or to register, contact liaison nurse Vicki Donderwinkel at our Hamilton office on 07 838 2027 or email vickid@cancersociety.org.nz
