Welcome to the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Cancer Society
Supportive care services will continue at Covid-19 alert level four
If you or a loved one have cancer, you may be concerned about how you will get the support you need as New Zealand faces a four-week isolation period.
We want the community to know our supportive care nurses are still here to offer information, advice and support throughout this period.
Although home visits will not be possible during this time, our nurses are available on the phone and via email, and we continue to accept new referrals.
Our 0800 CANCER information helpline is also available on 0800 226 237 for people affected by all types of cancer. This free service operates Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm, excluding public holidays, and is staffed by a team of experienced cancer nurses.
Contact our supportive care team on 0800 22 77 44 or email us at email@example.com.
Today 60 New Zealanders will hear the words, “I am sorry, you have cancer”.
If you or someone you care about has cancer, if you want to help provide support, or reduce your own risk of cancer – you have come to the right place.
At the Cancer Society, we know how a cancer diagnosis can affect every aspect of your life and we are here to help you through.
The Cancer Society can help you get to your medical appointments, or provide accommodation if you live far away from hospital. Our specialist nurses can support you through your treatment and answer any questions you have – big or small.
And if you want to talk – we are here to listen.
No one should face cancer alone… with the Cancer Society here, you won’t have to.
